Bush Poets

Join our talented team of Australian Bush Poets for breakfast on Sunday March 25th. Breakfast to commence at 08:00 and will include a BBQ breakfast with eggs bacon and sausages, for sale. Enjoy the sounds of the Bush, while you recover, with a good greasy Brekkie! Laugh, cry, but mostly enjoy, that is what the Poets do best.

Well folks, here they are. The maddest band of Bush Poets this side of ‘Turn Back Jimmy Creek’, which is on the Newell Hwy just the other side of Jerilderie in NSW I think.

Anyway, local Bush Poet Col Driscoll had rounded these blokes up from far and wide to entertain you at the inaugral Sunday Poets Breakfast.

As Col says, “You wouldn’t bring a horse this far if he wasn’t gunna win.”

So it’s a sure bet these blokes will have ya cackin yourselves laughin, so you’d better pack a spare pair of undies just in case!

Neil McArthur

Neil McArthur

Neil has been touring Australia for over fifteen years, performing his no-holds barred, but family friendly style of Aussie Humor in Verse to packed houses from Victoria to Tamworth, through to North Queensland Caravan Parks and anywhere in between.

His work has been endeared by thousands of fans and his works are now performed by many other  Bush Poets both nationally and internationally.

Neil's imagination can take you on a wild and hilarious trip through the unique culture of this Great Southern Land.

Holding firm as a Festival favorite throughout Australia, Neil prides himself in being a real life Aussie Ratbag and reflects this throughout his performances.

Col Driscoll

Col Driscoll

Col was raised on a small wheat and sheep farm at Barkly, near the foot of the Pyrenees Ranges.

Col has been writing and performing Bush Poetry for 15 years, gaining his inspiration from those innocent days growing up on the farm, and from the many places he has visited, the sights he has seen and the people he has met on his extensive travels around Australia.

In his poetry Col strives to capture the colors, the humor, the hardships and the spirit of Australia in a style that saw him win the prestigious Golden Damper Award at the 2009 Tamworth Bush Poetry Competition.

Funny, witty and very patriotic, Col now performs his unique brand of poetry at festivals and events right across the country.

Ray Essery

Ray Essery

Ray is a living (only just) legend of the Aussie Bush Poetry scene, and is a must see fixture at festivals and events throughout Australia.

With his laconic style and dry sence of humour, the Mullumbimby Bloke leaves his audiences begging for more after every performance.

Described by his peers as having more yarns than a CWA craft exhibition, this former Sailor and Dairy Farmer from Nothern NSW has been a favourite of Bush Poetry followers for years and years, in fact possibly since the late 1890s!!

Errol Gray

Errol Gray

Errol is a 30 year veteran of the music business, having worked in just about every area of the industry. But now, with the pressure of trying to be the next big country star well and truly in the past, and a face too ugly even for radio, the Backyard Ballareer says ‘Bugger it! It’s time to start telling it like it is!” A statement his ever growing band of supporters will agree with.

With his acoustic guitar, stompbox, harmonica and politically incorrect sense of Aussie humour, Errol has his audiences in stitches with songs and bush poems that reflect everyday situations and misfortunes that happen to us all.
